Chronic Pain is like having four flat tires
September is Pain Awareness Month and the American Chronic Pain Association (ACPA), released a short, two-minute video which clearly and simply explains what it is like living with chronic pain. Using the analogy that chronic pain is like having four flat tires and achieving the highest quality of life possible requires filling those flat tires back up. Each tire represents something different: physical therapy, nutritional counseling, biofeedback and other treatment modalities. The video emphasizes how each person will have a different set of needs for what goes into their tires to fill them up and that it requires active participation of the person living with chronic pain and a team of healthcare providers supporting them on their journey.
